If you’re looking to give your 4.0TFSI V8 a serious breath of fresh air, the Eventuri intake system is where it's at. We’ve completely rethought the air inlet track from the ground up. Every piece, including the airbox lid, has been designed to let those twin turbos suck in air more efficiently, cutting down on drag and boosting performance in a big way.
Now, let’s talk about the stock airbox lid. It’s a bottleneck, plain and simple. The way it’s shaped restricts airflow, which is a real shame. So, we raised the central section of the lid to fit a bigger flow collector and larger cone filters. This means less restriction overall, which is a game changer compared to those who stick with the stock setup.
Speaking of upgrades, our turbo inlets are a whopping 43% larger than stock. They’ve got this cool dimpled inner surface that helps keep airflow smooth and reduces friction. This design creates a cushion of air along the walls, letting airflow zip through at higher rates without as much pressure loss. The result? Your turbos can pull in air with way less resistance, which ultimately means they spool up quicker. Just keep in mind that performance gains can vary based on your ECU tune.
Here’s a breakdown of what makes this intake system tick:
- Airbox Lid: The stock lid has a shallow opening that limits airflow. We’ve raised the middle section to allow for a larger flow collector and bigger filters, all while using the same mounting points as the original.
- Flow Collector: This part directs air from the filters to the turbo inlets. With our design, we’ve ditched the restrictions of the stock version, allowing for a massive increase in volume and a switch to high-flow cone filters with a larger surface area.
- Turbo Inlets: The stock inlets are small and have flexible sections that create turbulence. We removed the first flexible section to boost internal volume and increase inlet sizes, letting the turbos pull in air faster and spool up quicker.
- Dimpled Surface: We didn’t stop there. We added a dimpled pattern to the inlet surfaces, which helps reduce friction and increases flow rate. This unique design was made possible through advanced manufacturing techniques, something traditional methods just can’t achieve.
